Award Recipients

2003 – Falko Langenhorst

Transmission electron microscopy and impact structures: Victor Moritz Goldschmidt Award presented to Falko Langenhorst for microstructural studies of shocked minerals.

From the laudation:

“Falko Langenhorst is an internationally recognized mineralogist who has devoted many years to the investigation of impact rocks, both in the laboratory and in the field. (...) His principal analytical tool is transmission electron microscopy. Through his investigations of the microstructures of shock-metamorphosed minerals, as well as through the further development of analytical methodologies, Falko Langenhorst has made significant contributions that represent major advances in transmission electron microscopy.”
