Award Recipients

2020 – Marina Veter

From mantle mineral phases to petrogenetic process indicators: Beate Mocek Award winner Marina Veter investigates trace elements in mantle silicates.

In memory of the petrologist and geochemist Beate Mocek, the DMG has awarded the Beate Mocek Award since 2013. The award is intended to support outstanding early-career female scientists in the field of mineralogy, with a particular focus on petrology and geochemistry.

In 2020, the Beate Mocek Award Committee presented the award to Marina Veter (Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia) in support of her research project, “Geochemical Characterisation of Trace and Ultra-Trace Elements in the Mantle-Forming Silicate Phases Olivine, Orthopyroxene and Clinopyroxene as Petrogenetic Indicators for Mantle Processes.”
