Invitation to the Joint Workshop, March 6–8, 2024, in Bad Windsheim

Announcement and Call for Papers for the 2024 joint workshop of the DMG sections "Applied Mineralogy" and "Crystallography" in Bad Windsheim, including all organizational details.

Save the Date!
In spring 2024, the two DMG sections “Applied Mineralogy” and “Crystallography” will once again host their joint workshop, which will take place in Bad Windsheim, located between Nuremberg and Würzburg:

When: March 6–8, 2024
Where: Hotel Am Kurpark
Oberntiefer Straße 40
D-91438 Bad Windsheim

The sections “Applied Mineralogy” and “Crystallography” cover a broad spectrum of innovative research topics. We hereby invite participants to submit contributions in the form of oral presentations. Active participation, particularly by early-career researchers, is strongly encouraged. Current scientific developments within our sections should be presented through contributions from ongoing or recently completed projects, as well as Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral theses. The workshop is intended as a platform where even preliminary ideas and work in progress can be discussed.

We kindly ask for submission of contributions from all areas of applied mineralogy and crystallography by December 15, 2023, via email. The duration of standard presentations should not exceed 20 minutes, including discussion. Short contributions are also welcome, allowing participants to present specific questions or challenges from ongoing work in a focused discussion format. Participation in the workshop is also possible without submitting a contribution.

Joint coffee breaks and meals during the workshop will foster informal exchange on current developments. The overall schedule is designed to be as relaxed as possible, allowing ample time for discussion.

We look forward to a lively participation and a successful workshop.

Uta Helbig, Daniel Vollprecht, Christiane Stephan-Scherb
