It is with great sadness that we announce that Dr. Erhard Nägele passed away on 10 May at the age of 82.

Dr. Erhard Nägele was a long-standing member of the German Mineralogical Society (DMG) and was deeply committed to the Society. He served as Treasurer for 33 years, from 1974 to 2007. He was the owner of Schweizerbart Science Publishers, which publishes, among others, the European Journal of Mineralogy (EJM). In recognition of his outstanding service to the Society, he was awarded the Abraham Gottlob Werner Gold Medal in 1988.

We will honor the memory of Erhard Nägele with deep gratitude.
